OneClickRENO Unveils Report on Pilot Markets Activities: paving the Way for Staged Building Renovations
Ireland, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy and Athens.
The OneClickRENO (OCR) project has released its Report on Pilot Markets Activities, detailing the methodological approach designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of staged renovations in five pilot markets across Europe.
The report was elaborated by Certimac and Ideas for Change. Certimac leads the technical aspects, demonstrating the feasibility of phased renovations across five pilot markets. Meanwhile, Ideas for Change spearheads project communication and co-creation, utilizing the Pentagrowth methodology for the building renovation pilots.
We will now go into the details of the report, which is available for free download.
SAP and LAPs: the cornerstones of OCR's action plans
At the heart of the OCR project lies a two-pronged action plan strategy:
Standard Action Plan (SAP): This overarching roadmap guides the project consortium, providing a shared framework for tracking the implementation and impact of BRPs across all pilot markets.
Local Action Plans (LAPs): Each pilot leader crafts a customized LAP based on the SAP, considering the specific conditions, needs, and goals of their respective market. These plans serve as operational tools, translating the SAP's strategic objectives into actionable steps.
Stakeholder Engagement: a collaborative approach
The OneClickRENO (OCR) project recognizes the importance of stakeholder engagement throughout its lifecycle to ensure the successful implementation of Building Renovation Passports (BRPs) and accelerate deep renovations across Europe. The Report on Pilot Markets Activities outlines a comprehensive strategy that leverages the Pentagrowth methodology elaborated by Ideas for Change, which emphasizes connecting with various stakeholders and empowering them to contribute to the project with their knowledge and expertise.
The report focuses on early and continuous involvement of diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, industry representatives, and community groups, throughout various phases. Co-creation workshops facilitate collaboration and problem-solving, focusing on defining renovation roadmaps, validating tool designs, and developing policy recommendations. Feedback mechanisms like surveys and interviews gather stakeholder input, while efforts to expand the stakeholder network aim for broader impact. Formal partnerships with One-Stop Shops enhance collaboration, culminating in a final event to present policy recommendations and celebrate achievements.
Collaborative stakeholder engagement ensures project relevance, increases buy-in and adoption of OCR solutions, supports policy recommendations, and lays the groundwork for sustainable impact beyond the project's duration.
LAPs: tailored strategies for local success
LAPs serve as operational tools for each pilot country, translating the SAP's strategic objectives into actionable steps tailored to their specific context. These plans will be developed as shared spreadsheets, with each pilot country having a dedicated sheet outlining activities, timelines, stakeholders involved, and expected achievements. Regular updates will ensure that LAPs reflect progress, with Pilot Leaders responsible for providing updates every 4 months.
Conclusion: a path to accelerated renovations
The OCR project's Report on Pilot Markets Activities sets the stage for demonstrating the effectiveness of BRPs in accelerating deep renovations across the EU. The SAP and LAPs provide a robust framework for implementing and evaluating the project's strategies, while the emphasis on stakeholder engagement ensures a collaborative and inclusive approach. As the project progresses, LAPs will be updated, and future reports will track their development based on the SAP, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of staged building renovations.
