OneClickRENO Showcases Innovation at the "Let's Activate the Renovation of Housing Blocks in the Basque Country" Event
On October 1st, San Sebastian hosted the event “Let’s Activate the Renovation of Housing Blocks in the Basque Country,” organized by the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI). This gathering brought together 18 leading experts in building renovation, including representatives from local urban chambers, architects, and other relevant stakeholders. The event served as a platform to present several European projects aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of residential buildings. Among these initiatives, the OneClickRENO Project stood out, showcasing its innovative solutions for deep renovation of buildings through the use of Building Renovation Passports (BRP).
The OneClickRENO Project presented its core tool in process—the Building Renovation Passport—which will utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to automatically generate detailed, personalized renovation plans. This approach aims to empower property owners and stakeholders involved in energy retrofitting to access a comprehensive renovation strategy tailored to the specific characteristics of each building. With just one click on a digital map, users will obtain essential information, including the address, cadastral reference, energy and economic indicators, and the potential savings achievable through various renovation measures. This makes the BRP an invaluable resource for promoting sustainable and deep renovations across the European Union.
During the event, the simplicity and accessibility of the OneClickRENO tool received high praise from participants. Many emphasized the potential of this solution to drive the uptake of energy-efficient renovations at multiple stages of a building’s lifecycle, ultimately leading to significant improvements in the energy performance of residential buildings. The Building Renovation Passport also positions OneClickRENO as a potential integral component of future one-stop-shops for building renovation, integrating all necessary information in a single, user-friendly platform.
In addition to OneClickRENO, other notable projects such as CONDORENO and Opengela were presented. These initiatives focus on establishing one-stop-shops and providing support to communities throughout the renovation process. The synergy between these projects and OneClickRENO highlights a shared goal of making energy-efficient renovations more accessible, cost-effective, and impactful.
The event in San Sebastian provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration among experts, setting the stage for more comprehensive and integrated strategies to accelerate the energy transformation of residential buildings in the Basque Country and beyond.
With its cutting-edge approach, the OneClickRENO Project is set to play a pivotal role in the European Union’s efforts to meet its ambitious energy efficiency targets, positioning itself as a key enabler of deep renovation through innovative and scalable solutions.
